Jd,

Any blemish in RDRAM rollout will affect it severely

I don't know. PC-133 was supposed to be a pretty major blemish. We had a 1 hour sell-off, then it's been up since then. I certainly can't fault anyone for getting off the ride for awhile, though. Just be sure to be back on fully for the start of the next ride up.

You can't have the idea that 120 to 150 is very close in time like Sep-Oct.

Like uncle, I'm not worried about Sep/Oct. I'm looking at 2001. There will be plenty of selling and buying opportunities between now and then for those so inclined.

at the casino they call the stock market.

You pays your money and you takes your chances <G>.

Good luck,.

Dave

RE: <Any blemish in RDRAM rollout will affect it severely. Unless RAM manufacturers get there act together and produce volume shipments of RDRAM, stock will always be trading with wide swings.>

Absolutely true. The next big threat to rmbs price is large numbers of PCs not leaving the factory for lack of drdrams. Whether this happens or not is hard to say since it is being determined by many micro decisions throughout the industry. Supply/demand is has always been tricky in the memory business even when there is no revolutionary dram transition underway. Remember the undersupply in 94/95 and the huge oversupply for most of the time since then?

Now there is truly large uncertainty on a number of fronts that make undersupply of drdrams at least a strong possibility. Perhaps a huge undersupply. If this does happen I would think that it would be very bad both for rmbs price and Rambus reputation since everyone up and down the supply chain will be blaming Rambus.
