FYI, Freeus, it is not the age of the trees that matters. It is the age of the undisturbed ecosystem that is important. Sure, it a few centuries all those replanted forests will be thriving. The fact is, however, forests are being cut down faster than they can reach a mature status. It is only a mature or "old growth" forest that can support the type of pristine enviroment that needs to be protected. Just replanting clear cut trees is not enough.
