Our Bureau (The Hindu BusinessLine)

NEW DELHI, Sept. 3

IndiaCapital.com Pvt. Ltd has launched an Internet Web site - www.mutualfundsindia.com - which is the first Web site dedicated to the Indian mutual funds industry.

The site provides comprehensive information on over 400 schemes of various mutual funds in the country. It allows access to primary details of these schemes, their latest and historical net asset values (NAV), performance track record, fund portfolios, fund manager profile etc.

This apart, one can also view the latest fact sheet of any scheme which gives details such as the fund objective, entry-exit load, top 10 holdings, dividend history, industry allocation, fund size, asset break-up, latest NAV, fund manager name, AMC, registrar etc.

A feature of the site is `Choose a Scheme', which enables users to find out the schemes on their own specific criteria. For example, if one wants to know all the open-ended growth schemes, he/she can retrieve the information on them and after getting the details of such schemes, can compare their performances and yields, read the fund manager's profile, see how other schemes of the same mutual funds are performing and take a decision.

The investors in a particular scheme can download the forms of certain schemes right from there and send it to the concerned mutual fund after filling it and attaching the required payment. Further, after investing, investments can be tracked on the site using various tools.

Other ancillary features of the site are links to other sites, a detailed primer on mutual funds, tax laws, latest news about the mutual funds, etc.

The site has been able to generate approximately 60,000 hits during the eight-week period ended August 25, 1999, a company release said.
