James, just a clarification. Terayon's cable modems and transmission equipment are base on cdma (code division multiple access), as is Qualcomm's air interface technology for mobile and fixed wireless communications. But it is not really correct to say that Terayon produces cable modems which use QCOM's CDMA technology.

Hope I have not confused the issue even more.

Best regards,
Jim

The CEO of Terayon was interviewed on CNBC this a.m. He said the market for cable modems for next year would be about $15 million and Terayon expected to have about 20% of that business.

Folks,

Here is the response I got from C-port. I find it a little ambiguous. Draw your own conclusions.

Dear Mr. Connolly,

In terms of traditional system architectures, C-Port's processor handles all elements of packet/cell forwarding typically referred to as "fast path". Signaling and routing software or "slow path" functions, typically run on a host processor. Our partnership with Wind River is currently focused on describing the fast path/slow path interface in systems which contain the C-Port processor handling the forwarding functions and a host processor running VxWorks as an OS.

Thanks for your interest in C-Port.
