i think 64MB is enough for 95% WIN98 users. there is no big performance gain over 64MB if you do not run graphic intensive applications. other configurations like HDD may affect performance too. my win98 with 128MB ram will slow down when my C: drive free space is lower than 100MB. i tried win2000 and Millenium betas on my box, they both run smoothly with 64MB ram. sure, win2000 will need more DRAM than win98, but it's mainly for business users.
