michael....re: dell position

understand your strategy...in fact i've written dell 0055 calls..same as a short in essence...but hedged with puts...dell at above 55, puts lower cover both puts and calls with other put premiums.

feel dell has potential to "fill the gap" with market weakness. otherwise 46-52 range for a while, but not as long as 36-44 range/consolidation.

my question is that you are out of pocket a premium...why not just short and consider your upside stop equal to what you would pay for the put?

to me leap put buys are the proverbial sucker bet in all but the real dogs(as some inets).....time always on the seller side as i demonstrated.

thanks your input...get more respect from you "a dell adversary" then some of the "dell zealots".........stocks go up....stocks go down.....even qcom....(guess i was bearish on the G+K thread when i suggested selling sept190 calls when qcom above 190 last week)

i really think one must think out a pure buy and hold technique with any higher pe growth stock...options should be used to enhance the position....fundamentals not as meaningful anymore....don't like it..but reality

thanks, ed a.
