First, to be fair and give credit where credit is due, I ran all day today without a hitch. Except for some slowdowns at the open - which is a NASDAQ problem which is suppose to be fixed this fall - everything ran beautifully.

Second, had a nice conversation with Mr. Burke - and considering I would not expect to be one of his favorite people right now, it was nice! :)

I pointed out to him that my posts come from total frustration from seeing an excellant program having problems and lack of management responding to these problems in a manner to keep me in the loop as to what they are, what they are doing about it and a reasonable timeline as to when the problems might be resolved.

He informed me that they are aware of the problems, which appear to be feed related - most due to Comstock changing their system around and maybe some not pinned down as yet - and that they are busting their rears to fix them ASAP.

I can live with that and hope he realizes that if he can keep us informed we can be happy campers - it is the not knowing that kills us.

I do disagree that email is the manner in which to do so but as he pointed out, that is the single means they have to contact everyone.

Boy, but for a messaging system ala Cyber! :)

And one other item of some importance - they have hired some new Customer Service people and they should be coming out of training shortly.

Peace! :)

Gibbons,

Could you please make the list of servers selectable within Qchart? I have often moved the server which has the least round-trip delay to the top in the .ini file only to find out that Qchart insisted to connect to a "slower" server (normally jersey-r01). Ctrl-Alt-n has not worked for me. It either jumped back and forth between two servers or reconnected to the same server again.

I have made sure that I had good connection to the net but it did not make any difference.

Also, I have noticed that my .ini file did not have servers that others connected to. What's the story?

Please advise,
JT

Gibbons,

We have seen quite a lot data discrepencies among different servers these days. Do you have reliable mechinism in place to sync them at least once a day and over the weekend? If you need to make some servers running in night session, have you thought about bringing half of them off line to do the necessary manitenance and alternate them every other night?

I don't mean to tell you how to run your business but just to point out problems I have been experienced, such as the infamous 7/30 volume spikes on some but not the others.

It is really frustrated to see different data on different server which is one of the reason people change the AutoUpdateServerList to false once found a good server.

Also, are you able to "mark" a server "unavailable", when it is in service (data corruption or maintenance), to prevent people from connecting to it?

Just some thoughts,
JT

Gibbons,
The big problem that has existed for months, is that the data on different servers do not agree.
There is only one server which seems to maintain a solid data base, and that is Herndon.
It seems that the other servers have not been able to maintain data without gaps for more than the most recent few days.

I do hope that you will eventually be able to solve the problem.

peter
