Palo Alto,

No I meant in the SAME time frame.

The current day's 5 min chart has no 21 EMA drawn on it until 22 bars have passed; then it draws the MA starting from the 1st bar to the penultimate bar.

If I display a 2-day 5 min chart, the 21 EMA draws in a totally different place, especially if there's a big gap like today.

i.e....today for AMZN...around 11 a.m. PST the 21 and 50 EMA were right on top of one another on the 2-day version.

But when I look at the 1-day version, they was a spread between them.

I should use the multi day always, right? Try this yourself and see if it does the same thing on your charting program.

And let me know the proper value of the 21 EMA for AMZN (5 min chart) at 7 a.m. PST today (10 a.m. EST)...

Thanks...Paul

P.A.T.

Can you draw a daily trend line and have it show on different time frame chart?
