Re COMS: CNBC just did a lengthy piece about 3com and rumors of its possible acquisition by Lucent. No confirmation of those rumors -- just mentioned that they were all over the Internet this week. And the analysis of 3com itself was pretty down-beat -- basically, those interviewed said that 3com NEEDS to form a partnership with (or be taken-over-by) some bigger-fish, or else it may not be able to survive in the marketplace as giants like Cisco begin to encroach on its "niches." Bottom-line seemed to be that if 3com is NOT acquired by somebody else, the company could be in big trouble soon...
