I just called a radio show called "Investor's Edge" which is on in Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa. I mentioned the Yahoo roll-out and asked his opinion on CheckFree. He liked the company, said they were beginning to make money, and was a buyer if the stock breaks through $34.

Big Al, Bank One and Wells Fargo bill pay services...

Hi Big Al,

Sounds like you use Bank One Pay. What do you mean by "float issue"?

I use Wells Fargo bill pay. The Yahoo! Bill Pay has some differences, besides pricing. For example, the manual checks payments from Yahoo don't hit my account until the check is endorsed by the vendor and travels back to my bank. At Wells Fargo, when the check is cut, my account is debited.

Not sure why the difference. Maybe I have it wrong, but that is my impression.

The Yahoo! site is simple, straightforward and no nonsense. I just hope the site does not allow a payee to be added unless the account number is filled in.

Also, for all those who balance their checkbooks, I wonder how they will integrate their electronic checks with their manual checks listed in their payment register. Maybe it doesn't really matter because maybe most people don't balance their checking account anyway.

At $2.00/month and .40 cents a bill, I don't see why everyone will not be using this for all their bills. And it will only become more cost effective as postage always goes up, and the cost of computing always goes down.

Just my opinion.

Jon :)
