Bruce, Not all Bereans are Preturists. It is a term meaning that to be a Berean is to trust no authority except the Scriptures for enlightenment.

Acts 17, 10-11
"10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

I had never heard of the preterist view of eschatology myself, so I could not believe what I didn't know. As I began to study this view I saw that though it went against what the majority of the Church was teaching it was what the Bible was teaching. I had to make a choice between tradition and the Scripture, the choice was easy. If this view is new to you I would ask that you would openly and honestly look at what it is saying. Almost every book in the New Testament talks of a "soon" return of Jesus Christ and it is very hard to make 2,000 years "soon" by any hermeneutic. The main issue in all of this is the inspiration of Scripture. Don't let tradition rob you of the precious truths which our Lord taught. I challenge you to be a Berean and daily search the Scripture to see if these things are so.

I'll post further later.

James

Brumar your message to James mentioned me as a gnostic.
I have been on the internet for several years and prior to that on national BBS chats. There have been many who believed in gnosticism but never experienced the gnosis.

I am gnostic by experience and not from any literature or any group of religionists. I was raised in the church of Christ and attended a bible school. I can assure you the experience of gnosis had nothing to do with the bible or taught beliefs.

You say you have intellectual curiosity. I can tell you I never had that for religion until after my revelation. I just had to know how a whole nation and especially myself could have accepted religion based on faith when it was so far from truth.

Since that experience almost 30 years ago I have researched
religious origins with untold hours and dedication and found
nothing to disprove any of the gnosis. However, I now understand how easily people are brainwashed by substituting
faith for reasoning.

The internet and online books will bring a new paradigm to religion and unless the church leaders change theirs they will die a slow death. Children of today see right through the hypocrisies of their parents and the internet will make them even wiser.

Dear Brumar (from Nancy),
I think the more correct title for their beliefs would be pre-terrorist. This theologoy has led to horrific violence in the past. You see God has mercy on them no mater how much they sin and hate people but everyone else (even other CHristians) are judged to hell. Especially all Jews. Alan and I have shared we have our faith in the Messiah and they still consider us Talmudic evil Jews because we refuse to hate everything and everyone that is Jewish. Any theologoy that produces hatred for anyone or anything IMO is a lie and from an evil source. There are many gaps in this theology but they switch to the Septuagint or writings from their anti-semitic CHristian gods to support the error. I have never seen anyone quote so many other writings than the Bible than Emile. Go back and look he quotes lengthy quotes from other men that barely mention scriptures. This is a violation of Berean basics isn't it?
Please do not accept this as the ways of Jesus or a true representation of Him. He has truth and love, mercy and grace and told us that if you judge people you will be judged and if you condemn people you will be condemned. I wonder what He considers condemning? As you search to intellectually understand this faith please read Matthew chapter 5-7 to see the major contrast in the Lords words to Emiles understanding of them.
May the Lord God of Israel fill you with His love and peace,
Nancy

Bruce, I will be posting from time to time whenever I find anything relevant to the Second Coming during 70AD.

"1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. 2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
Revelation 11

John is told to measure the Temple. The Temple is still standing after John wrote Revelation to the seven Churches.
This is obvious that the destruction of the Jews and the Temple at Jerusalem were not at this time destroyed.
To me this proves that Revelation is talking about the Second Coming of Christ that occured during the Jewish war with the Romans in 70AD.
As you know, some try to say that Revelation was written in 96AD, therefore the persecution and destruction of the Jews had already happened, so we have those called futurists, who believe that the Second Coming has not occured and is still future after more than 1800 years.
The Lord and the Apostles were not liars or mistaken when they mentioned many times that the tribulation would occur in their generation.
