Gawd, you and Lather are two wusses. At 6 I had a real live bat flying around my room at night. I'd wake up and go pound on my parents door, howling about ghosts or something waking me, and they'd get irritated and drag me back to my room. Until one night the bat zoomed at them as they took me back to my room. I I I was vindicated. What had happened was that the house had just been painted, and the painters had left the unscreened windows open for the paint to dry. The bat had taken up residence in my closet. You know how an open closet door always scared you when you were a kid trying to go to sleep? Well it should have. Bats live in there.
