I I I knew the trick of rubbing my hands together to get them quite warm. A much more controlled way to simulate a fever. And you can let go when the reading is Just Right ... stay home but no doctor.

No I never tried a radiator, we used to have this little electric one in our attic room. And I would whip the thermometer in front of it and then jam it in my mouth in rapid order. Reading those things was always a pain though in the wee morning hours and sometimes I would make a grave mistake! Like the time I registered 106 and my mom had a cow! Luckily she retook the reading and I had time to get it down to 102. :-)

I had the worst day yesterday! The most beautiful creature ever to walk our planet (my daughter) has LICE!! I was washing her hair for pre-school when I saw them! Those evil little nasty white critters!!! Needless to say she couldn't go to school and we were sent into overdrive to rid the house. So I spent the last 30 some hours first renting a machine to clean the carpets, (which was interesting because we now have a new color) and then bagging up every toy, (of which barbie numbers in the dozens) and every stuffed animal. Basically everything she could lay her head on! Funny thing is no one else has them in the house, so she must have picked them up at pre-school. What a pain in the butt!

But our house is remarkably cleaner now! :-)

We were wondering why she was scratching her head a lot lately too, but figured she was in deep thinking mode or something. <vbg>

Here is a question, why is carpet cleaning always the MAN'S JOB!!
