I do beleive in fate but I think we (or at least I) have the ability to control it .......

Can't say that nukes scare me as much as the thought of a non-nuclear y2k societal breakdown though (which seems like a much more real possibility)

I just bought a crank radio...
water filter that works in ponds and streams...
...I gotta get one of thos -5 degrees mummy sleeping bags..etc.
if nothing happens the worst thing that will happen to me is that I will probably go camping in Oregon (because of the gear I have been buying).......

No way. For example... Municiple solid Waste Trucks started parking near a local playground by me.
I put up Yellow Fliers on each utility pole "warning solid wate: Public Health Hazard...Contact the Department of Environmental Protection agency @ XYZ etc....
Can't save the world ...but I try to help out when I can :-)

Doesn't get too cold where I live in the winter 20-30 degrees on average winter day I guess... But you know what? If the power goes out Y2k I bet People (elderly, sick, etc.)will literally freeze to death. I can't beleive the government has not given out Sleeping Bags to the needy......
