I have devised a quiz to expedite matters:
1.) Do you think that "Thelma and Louise" was a great film?
2.) Do you find yourself admiring RuPaul's taste?
3.) Do you have a secret collection of Barbie ensembles?
4.) Do you wonder if a ring through your navel would be "too much"?
5.) Do you have a Georgia O'Keefe print in your room?
6.) Do you daydream about spending time at a spa?
7.) Do you like to go shopping without any sort of agenda?
8.) Do you worry about your complexion?
9.) Do you separate your laundry any further than whites and colors?
10.) Do you wish you were more like Alan Alda?

If you have answered yes to more than five of these questions, you may very well be a "female".....

<<Ish (a wannabe for sure, ho, ho!)>>

Thanks Joan, you just got dropped from my will. Back a couple of years ago I almost wound up in Jill jail so I have tried to be a more sensitive person and this is the thanks I get.

Did I get this unearned title for saying it was ok by me if the woman breast fed in the $75 a plate restaurant? It would be fine since if a woman brought a baby in I'd head for the door. I can't take crying or baby smells. It's a moot thing anyway because I don't eat at any places that charge more than $12.95 for a meal.

To no one in particular (this seemed a good place to respond). "Wannabe," as I define it is something much different than what has attracted so much attention here.

"Wannabe" almost excludes wanting to BE something. It is more like wanting to "appear" as something.

Lot of kids dress like gangstas when it's the last thing they want to be (they may want to be "in fashion" esp. in the eyes of kids who ARE ganstas).

Ditto kids who attempt to look or act "tough." In my view, its mostly a ploy for acceptance.

I did not think for a minute that there was any guy here that wanted to be transformed into a woman. I did (and do) think some males here seek to affect solidarity with women on the thread and express themselves accordingly. Free country and all that. Who cares anyway.

The other point I wanted to make (without offense to anyone) is that a part of this discussion is an example of how easy or often we overlook other choices.

When I said not all the "Wannabes" were necessarily males, it seems the only option (jokingly offered) was hermaphrodite. What the Bad Boy meant to say (imply) was that there was a female or two here who might have a lot of catching up to do to be a "real woman."

It was a cruel thing to say and I retract it even as I report it. If any want to get in a dither over it, that's fine but I am not going to participate.

I will end with a comment for Joan's poll.

I, like all humans I know, have both male and female characteristics. The mix varies from person to person.

Joan,

Just saw this.

100% male.
No working female parts.
