I don't know where you live but, it sounds like it gets cold in the winter. In SE Texas we don't have that much to worry about weatherwise in the winter. We just have to deal with hurricanes in the summer. Great trade-off, huh??

We are not in a panic mode about Y2K but are very aware of the possibilities of extended inconvenience. If it extends too far, we will have anarchy to contend with. We are preparing by planning for a very long hurricane situation with extra purchases of water, non-perishable foods, batteries, alternative cooking measures, and more ammunition as a last resort. Luckily, my father-in-law has an old WW2 generator that still works and can power up a fresh water well on my son's property for emergency purposes.
We are not going to wring our hands in distress but take reasonable precautions.

We can only hope that the crazies do not push the nuclear button...TD
