I think that FVCX was the company providing the ATM to the desk solution at both the OC3 and IBM's slower solution speed of 25 Mb/s.

I also think that Bay [prior to NT acquisition] partnered with FVC about five years ago, and may still be doing so, to provide video conferencing over ATM to the desktop. It therefore seems consistent to me that they should also be able to provide the kind of fabric that could support SVCs.

Thx, Gary. Yes, trying to see if the info posted by STZZS on Yahoo is credible.
Yes, CSCO is in connectionless IP nets and good to see you agree that SVC's aren't applicable there - that's what made me wonder about ther poster's credibility, but then I figured it best to give the poster the benefit of the doubt thinking the poster may have misunderstood what FVCX helped CSCO with.

Good point that FVC may have helped CSCO a few years back - Yahoo poster left that open by not mentioning a "when", though the fact it is mentioned in the past few weeks, one would think that if they did help CSCO it would have been "recently". It was also mentioned that CSCO is on the Board of Directors of FVC.

I'll check the FVC site again. Appreciate the answer and any other thoughts you may have.
