PB,

Thanks for the update. You are okay. You are the only one here that gets most of the process-related issues correct.

I was .25, I have been .18 for the last 3 years, will be .13 shortly.

Interesting... Looks like you are near completion of 0.18 and will be wrapping up soon. You seem to be more in the advance development than a sustaining engineer (process boy).

You may be correct about the potential of Coppermine. Even if it comes short of the K7, it will still be very successful. Just like Microsoft, it does not have to be the best to win. We will see in a few months.

BTW, some companies are really strict on their employee's participation on any discussion groups. The restrictions not only include on their company. It also includes competitors, vendors, and customers. This may be the reason why so few experts are here.

re : I am at a point now where I need to consider if I am going to renew my SI membership.

Well PB, I will miss you :)
You are one of the people on this thread who backup their words with some good data or facts, or at least try to form a good theory around their beliefs, and do not lower themselves to throwing mud at people who think otherwise.

So renew that SI membership, you'd please me with it.

greets, Michael Da Kota, FHWL.

Re: to consider if I am going to renew my SI membership...

Please do renew. Your posts are among the very best and most informative. You have been considerate and eloquent in presenting the viewpoint of one who is skeptical of AMD's likelihood of success. You would be missed. This thread would degenerate into the cheerleading that constitutes much of the Rambus thread if not for those like yourself.

Dan

RE: <However, the division I work for has an integral design group, whose most recent high profile projects were Deschuttes and Coppermine. They are right upstairs from us fab centric folks, and work for the same Development Director. We are one.>

This is one of the secrets of Intel's success.
