<AMD began shipping 500/550/600s beginning June and could not clear them out because of the motheboard problems. They introduced 650 speed grade faster than expected because Intel used AMD slips to get in a 600 speed grade ahead of time.> Just how long does it take to get things through the pipeline anyway? This may be a blatantly ignorant comment, but it seems to me that AMD is using horse wagons to deliver their products. I'll buy the story about motherboards holding back new speed grades, however. Even Dirk Meyer, confident as he was about the Athlon architecture, wasn't so sure about motherboards back when he had his June dinner-talk.
