Mark, the group exists and they are very much about recruitment. I realize they are a radical voice in the gay community and much of what they do would be frowned upon by more temperate gay people. See for yourself:

What I mentioned in that post was not from my imagination. If the story was on NPR I'm sure it made the papers. I'll bet a Nexus search would turn something up. Regarding the phone number, I recall that if that number was dialed, info was given on where a young woman could go for counseling and to meet like-minded people. There were bars included on the list as I recall, but it is a minor point. Perhaps they just used the tables and chairs before hours, I don't know.

We should keep in mind that they were leafleting a junior high school. I consider myself a tolerant conservative, but this was a shot across the bow in the culture war.

Edit: My real beef is with the teachers unions who refused to condemn the activity

mark silvers, with all due respect, Don't you like to know all of the activities that go on at the schools your children attend? Don't you feel as a parent you not only have a right to know, but also the school has a duty to inform you?
