AMAT followers... It was announced yesterday that Tom St.Dennis, AMAT Group Vice President and President of the Planarization and Dielectric Deposition Product Business Group, will be going to Wind River Systems (WIND) to serve as that company's new CEO.

Is anyone here familiar with Mr. St.Dennis' career and/or his track record with the planarization and dielectric deposition business group? I assume that a Group VP at AMAT is among the most senior management levels - is that correct? Does anyone know what kind of compensation package someone at this level might be giving up (including options and other incentives)? I am trying to gauge both his abilities and his perception (vis what he gives up at AMAT) of the opportunity at WIND. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Jim Frost
