Eric: You make the case for MSFT very well. Don't you think that Gates and Balmer know there are more clerks and office workers than there are engineers? The name of the game is market savvy plus usable high tech. Get a grip! JFD

Pls do not get hot air on this thread. If you do not believe, then pls talk to you Cadence representive what is its plan for NT + Mercede work station in the future, as well as other CAD vendors.
it is hard to maintain two OS within the same corp, and , besides, Unix is hard to use, and you got to have special training to get familiar with that OS system .

For Sun, it did not have a major competitor in its hardware business in the past, however, as the mercede came to play + NT, things will change dramatically in the near future, just look at Intel's stock movement recently, you will know !!!I bet the price will be very competitive against SUN's Sparc station. If Sun lost the harware business, it will not have a platform for its software, and have nothing left !!!!
