Howdy BLUE. I had my few days up in the mountains, and away from the Sheepeople too. Little town up near the Oregon border that has many less people than the elevation of the place. Had a good time scouting...errr, waterfowl viewing...the Lower Klamath NWR. Thousands and thousands of ducks there.
Congrats on your GE 909. Way to go. My ORCL decided to jump on Friday, which like your GE is a long time hold of mine. My buy in at 12.5 (post-split) seems like a stroke of brilliance now, but actually was just a somewhat educated stroke of luck! :*)
Carolyn pulled my coat on AREM last week and I jumped in at 8 1/2, looking good now over 11 and I'm hoping the trend continues. You might want to take a peek.
Hope the net rally continues. Payne Webber news has got to be good for GNET...hopefully more follows.
Glad to have you for a friend...may you continue to bag the 909'ers.

909's,
-Joe

BTW, on the swing shift now...3PM-11PM PST. :*(

Hi Blue, and All Techriders....
Blue, thanks for the reminder the other day...Mrs. BLUE is a lucky lady, me thinks! And I'm sure it's vice versa... Love the dog stories, and Joanie....your trip surely sounds like one to remember...rocky and all!

Have a couple of thoughts...
1) I've seen a couple of "sponsored by stockgroup.com" notes up by quotes on the new SI...Don't know if that is "really" an ad, an omen, or what....checked it out, and wondered what you all think....It's an OTC BB under SWEB... I've added it to my watch list....Do any of you think this might be something to watch? I think so...

2) Funny thing you mentioned GE, BLUE....I have it and also CPQ on my watch list....for much the same reason you noted.

3) Also, you mentioned MSFT....There is an interesting article in the Seattle Times this AM...here's the link....I keep wondering what Bill Gates, Paul Allen and Craig McCaw really envision....Take a look at Teledesic.com for the Satellite in the Sky part of the equation..
Here's to LOTS of 909's....specially this next week on 9-9-99....KLP

Microsoft: 'We're not a media company'
by Jay Greene
Seattle Times technology reporter

For Microsoft's Internet operations, the biggest news last week wasn't the hiring of Rick Belluzzo as its top executive. That was expected.
The real news is that Microsoft is willing to part with its pioneering online-commerce sites, CarPoint and Expedia, as the company refines its vast Internet operations.
Microsoft President Steve Ballmer said CarPoint, which helped create the online business of connecting car buyers to dealers, and Expedia, one of the first online travel agents, are not "tied to our core competency." .....

...."We're not a media company," Ballmer said. "The core thing we can do is transform the way people communicate, the way people publish information, the way people share information, the way people find information. We're going to put our heads down on that." ....
