violetta, I have no idea what is causing the 'drive in use"
message. If it was me, I'd reinstall Norton after uninstalling it.

hi violetta,

have you tried perusing the systemworks knowledge base and frequently asked questions (faq)?

symantec.com

you'll probably find that someone has had the exact same problem and there'll be some good suggestions to follow. <g3> i use it frequently with great results.

:)

Drive in use (When you want to format it)

Try the back door. Click Start, Shutdown, Restart in MS-DOS mode, and at the prompt type "FORMAT X:", where 'X' is the drive you want to format. The 'drive in use' seldom survives an MS-DOS boot.

Cheers, PW.

P.S. You may need to change directory for the FORMAT command to work. If so, type "CD \WINDOWS\COMMAND" and try again.
