DJ, The fundamentals and contrarianism go hand in hand. Waste Mgt., for example, is in a stable business growing at the rate of the economy. They are a major factor in that business. So, although I don't like the debt load, I do like the idea that their basic business is growing and they could come out of it someday. I thought the same about Time-Warner when it was in the 30s and it worked. I thought the same about Pagenet when it was in the teens and it didn't work. Which is why these specs require wide diversification or small bets.
