Eric L: If it is OK, I would like to thank you for your input.

Now one way to see if you have put your message across is to see if someone trying to understand does so.

Are you saying that while many here would like to think that CDMA's victory over competing installed systems such as TDMA and GSM is here, or at least will be here in a few weeks or months, that is not necessarily so?

That there is plenty of life left in TDMA and GSM and that even in the US there may be a major move to upgrade those systems to transmit data as well as voice. That investments and upgrades are underway and will continue for the near term.

That a nationwide system for GSM is abuilding.

That there is likely to be real cooperation between GSM and TDMA operators and a "world phone" on the market to handle both.

And that the only question is how long the eventual move to 3rd gen CDMA will take and what flavor or combination of flavors that may be.

Whew.

Please correct. An iterative process may work here as it does in the computer world. :-)
