Re-"The name of the game is keep intc
on its toes.....have you not noticed how noisy it is out of intc headquarters and how quiet
out of AMD's."

How much money does AMD lose trying to keep Intel on their toes ?

tejek,

re: Actually it is very smart and its called good marketing. AMD does not have a lot
of product identification in the marketplace.

You should have said, AMD doesn't have a lot of product in the marketplace.

The fastest AMD chip Fry's has is the 450Mhz K6-3, they did however have lot's of Celeron 500's and PIII 600Mhz cpu's.

The name of the game is keep intc on its toes.....

Don't you mean the name of the game is to report profits????.....oh, sorry I forgot I was talking to an AMD "investor," for lack of a better word.

re: "I can't imagine the bin yields are that great at 650MHz"

Do you hear that big sucking noise. It is coming from Armonk (IBM). The yields of 650 MHz parts are unexpectedly high and IBM is paying up for most of them. This quarter has gotten far more interesting than it was first supposed to be.
