Steve, I am not thinking of AOL now even though this is a AOL thread. What I am concerned about is the threat that MSFT poses to AOL. And it is MSFT that I am after. MSFT needs to be contained. And yes Larry Ellison, Scott McNealy and Steve Case have to pool their resources together to open up the computing industry and take it away from MSFT.

And the pressure on MSFT is starting to show. Their management has in the recent past made statements such as giving the Internet away for free (how frustrating to them is it not). Now they are being called to match the SUN/Star deal and they coming out and saying basically that they can match iy also. What a difference between MSFT giving away Internet access for free (just a threat) and SUN actually giving away Star for free.
