Actually you are wrong again Rtev but this does not surprise me. Presently there is a T1 Cabinet less than a mile away from me but there is no motivation for Bell Atlantic to serve up ADSL on my last mile of copper. Why you might ask? The reason is that they are currently netting 48+ dollars per month from my 2 analog lines so why should they provide me with one ADSL (handles bothe phone and PC) at $40 -50 per month unless they want to free up pairs in the cable or Cable TV comes in and threatens them with local phone service at which time they might lose both analog lines and all the revenue from my house. ADSL is a tech layup inside 1.5 miles and is getting simpler to install as well as being improved in terms of bandwidth/distance trade off daily. The problem is that unless forced to implement the RBOC's have no financial incentive to provide ADSL. Pray that T's monopoly on cable is maintained so that a wedge under the RBOC's will remain in place. JFD
