Words aren't "just words," Nulldog. I grew up in the Civil Rights era, when our high school was integrated, I tried to make friend with the black kids, and most of the white kids turned on me for being a "traitor to my race." I was called "nigger-lover," and "whore," and a rumor was started that I carried a black baby. I held up my head as high as I could, but it hurt. I used to go hide in the bathroom and cry because I didn't want anyone to see me and know they made points. The administration was on their side, my gym teacher tried to get me to quit associating with black kids because it was ruining my reputation, the principal asked her to. It made me tough as nails, but it still hurt.

Someone who is very dear to me, I don't think he would want me to say who it is, was tormented as being a "faggot" because his feet are deformed and he walks funny. He was beat up regularly, and humiliated, and called names, and rejected. He wasn't gay, just had, and still has, a deformity.

Why should schools tolerate torture like that?
