Grandmothers.......I was just thinking about one of mine before I read this post. My grandmother was the typical warm and loving type who only cared about cooking and keeping the family together....until she went to work. When she went to work she put on her grey pin striped suit, spectator pumps, and hat. She was all business. What a transformation. And she didn't take any sh#t when she had that suit on. Anyway she worked at a military base as a secretary to a fairly high ranking man. One day I remember vividly her telling my mother and I about her boss. He was a homosexual and he was the finest man she had ever worked for. He was a gentleman, he was educated, and he treated her with respect. She really got herself worked up talking about him. She really got angry, her eyes narrowed and she just spewed her comments. She was upset that he had to live with the threat of dismissal his entire career when he was so much better than the others. I will never forget it. It was the late 50"s or early 60's.
