Agreed that the job the Fed is attempting to do probably can't be done, but, you know, that's what they are chartered to do. As you also know, it wasn't that long ago that Keynes was supposed to be the way out of recessions, but no one has ever established how to get out of a bubble. IMO it's called the "dismal science," not because it's unpleasant to learn, but because the results are so frequently disappointing. I'd blame the politicians, but then, I usually do.
