Black people,today, still routinely call whites by this name which means just the same,in reverse, an n_____ does. Nobody seems to care that they call whites by such a derogatory name, but if a white man uses the same sort of slang,he is chastised unmercifully. I,personally,do not approve of the use of any names that constitute a racial or ethnic slur. There is just no reason to denigrate our fellow men (including women) regardless of the difference in their race or ethnic background. I do not have the same tolerance for homos...TD

I am 46, and my point was we had no idea at that age that the word was inflamatory to anyone,(even my neighbor's husband who was Hungarian did not mind being called that) we just used it the same way little kids use a lot of words. Although I know kids today are much more aware of what's going on around them than I seemed to be. My only interests at 7 or 8 seemed to be to see how long I could actually not go in the house before I was hunted down, flailed(my conception), and sent to the tub!! dan
