Steve, Soon all software will be written to require this unique code and you will login to the vendor site, provide code and get key to use your software. That key will run on your machine only. This is part of the ongoing effort to stop the CD copy industry which is hollowing out the software industry. With CD writers now $150 they are everywhere. this will be like a built in 'dongle', common on high end software products. I expect it will be hard to crack as I suspect that high end crypto will make it hard to crack. People will either buy it or use the older product. Bill
