Sierra Wireless Named The Fastest Growing Technology
Company by Deloitte & Touche in the 'Canadian Technology
Fast 50' Program

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Sierra Wireless (TSE: SW) announced
today it received top honours in the 1999 Canadian Technology Fast
50 program, an annual ranking by Deloitte & Touche of the 50
fastest growing companies in Canada. Rankings are based on the
percentage of growth in revenues from 1994 to 1998 (five-year
period).

Sierra Wireless' President and CEO, David Sutcliffe, credits
Sierra's people and strategic partnerships with the company's
7,644 percent revenue growth over the past five years.

"In the technology sector we really are operating in the global
economy, and those companies that recognize this fact seem to do
well, while those that don't, lag behind" said David Sutcliffe,
President and CEO of Sierra Wireless. "Canadian companies compete
successfully in world markets by focusing on developing and
retaining world class teams."

"Today, there are thousands of high technology companies in
Canada, many of who are vying for a share of the highly
competitive marketplaces in North America and other markets
worldwide. The Canadian Technology Fast 50 winners have proven
they can compete successfully by consistently delivering
technological wonders. Deloitte & Touche commends Sierra Wireless
for having the vision and determination to become the
fastest-growing technology company in Canada," said Garry Foster,
National Director, High Technology Sector, Deloitte & Touche
