The Morgan Stanley Growth Fund was launched in January 1994 and garnered an initial corpus of Rs. 981 crores. MSGF is India's largest private sector scheme investing in equities with over 1.17 million unit holders. MSGF is listed on the Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai and Ahmedabad Stock Exchanges and is also traded on the National Stock Exchange. In 1997, MSGF units were placed as eligible securities with the National Securities Depository Limited, which made it possible for unit holders to hold units in electronic/dematerialised form.
