"FREE"
On the subject of "FREE".A friend of mine who never in my life did I think would get online recently purchased an "E MACHINE". His cost after rebate was only $69.00. A friend of his gave him a free monitor. So I went over to try his "FREE" $21.95 a month contract of there version of compuserve. After trying five time to get on, we were successful. The E-mail process was an interesting process, not one that I wish to be a part of but interesting none the less. One must download the mail to receive it and then bring it up in some weird fashion. I had sent my friend several links to jokes or funny places I wanted him to have a laugh at. When the links appeared in a fashion other than what I was used to from AOL " SIMPLE BLUE LINK" we were both lost. I tried to cut and paste it but ooops no such luck. When I tried to type in links to other places they just would not come up. My whole point is that in time he will learn to use his "FREE' what I call worthless service and sooner or later learn that what he has is worthless and then try another service. I on the other hand have come to appreciate my AOL all the more and also now understand why my other friend changed from his long term use of prodigy to aol. The old motto still lives that "you get what you pay for". Some day we here in all the San Fernando Valley will have access to DSL or CABLE but until then I will be very happy with my AOl tethered by phone line.
GO AOL GO

I would love to hear other stories of personal experiences of those FREE services
