The 15 minute window closed on me before I could add this extra bit:

"The IXP1200 Network Processor can forward about 2.5Mpps running at 166 Mhz".

Even 8 processors "only" gets you 20Mpps. Aranea is supposed to do 200Mpps in the base box and scale from there. Linux Router offers 26Mpps in it's base box and will also scale to 4 boxes next year.

Just trying to figure this all out. Given INTC's goals to be THE supplier of Networking building blocks for the Internet, and their investment in Level One, I can see why INTC ought to be VERY INTERESTED in MRVC's technology going forward.
