Maybe... something above $600.? I don't know... know nothing about guns... how much are they? I would say that in order not to be considered cheap, something should cost more than your average electronic gadget... VCR, DVD player, etc.

Cheapness as it applies to handguns.

Would criminal activity be more acceptable if expensive guns were used? I doubt it would matter much to me wether I was hit by a bullet from treasure or trash.

Would higher gun prices increase crime? I doubt criminals would take a second job to pay for their pricier 'tools', but instead, increase their 'productivity' to cover their higher 'overhead.'

Just my thoughts, PW.

P.S. My belief in being self-reliant includes self-protection.

P.P.S. I don't have a gun, but my neighbours do, and because of this, I feel safer.

P.P.P.S. I don't believe jail's the answer, but I think a physical punishment may help. I don't observe many people leaving jail better people for having been there, so I must conclude society is not well served by our prison system.
