Thanks for your reply. I can see that the selection of which server to use is a more complicated thing than at first appears. I intend to leave my selection to the QCharts program as you recommend.

Does the automatic server selection in QCharts include a 'data base integrity' factor? I know I have, on several occasions, cycled through several servers using CTL-ALT-N before I found a server with what looked like valid data.

Also, what is the total internet bandwidth at each of your server farms? T3? multiple T1?, ISDN? What? How many NT boxes do you use at each server farm?
