kendall, A very interesting article. I have just returned from a volunteer medical mission in Armenia so I am a little (OK, a lot <g>) out of touch. I have also spent a lot of time in Cavite, the Philippines. The area is extremely poor...telephone penetration is about 1:10 and the labor costs are inexpensive even when compared to other Asian countries. The Philippines is the poorest country in Asia and has largely been left out of the Asian boom/bust. It is also the fourth largest English speaking country in the world. I am glad to see an industry which does not require the use of a water buffalo bring some prosperity to the kind people of this region. Heather
