I guess the "old architecture" vendors must have opened their fortune cookie and read the old Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times."

They will adapt or die. People won't put up with a busy trunk line signal. Teleco's will have to invest or buy more capacity. I think that means Fiber.

On another note, Agilent may be an interesting play in this sector also...
