Gibbons: Per your email, here's some feedback on the QCharts/CyberX integration. First, let me just note I'm quite content with the 2 products operating independently. If I could call the shots, I'd prefer Quote.Com's software development resources be devoted to other issues. QCharts is a fantastic charting & quote tool. Let's not stretch it too thin. That said, I just see no advantage to the integration as it is slower to operate than operating CyberX independently. Slower = it requires more clicks/keystrokes at least for my style of trading . - With the integrated product, you have to specify buy/sell twice, once in QCharts and once in CyberX. I realize that the menu in QCharts may be necessary for other platforms QCharts integrates with but its an extra click for CyberX traders. - For my style of trading, I have to specify the method in CyberX as I rarely use Selectnet or CyberXLimit so QCharts provides me with no benefit there. Indeed, I generally leave CyberX's method set to Island and with the integrated product, this would be 'overridden' requiring me to set it back. Even if I select an Island entry from a Level II display, QCharts sets up CyberX with a Selectnet bid to Island rather than a DirectECN bid. I would think this would lead to a slower posting of the order although I've not tested it. Perhaps the availability of a general option where a user could tell QCharts NOT to pass a method along to CyberX would alleviate this. - I generally have to set the price and # of shares either way so there's no advantage or disadvantage there (I almost never use market orders). - Finally, for whatever reason, CyberX's view of the current bid doesn't always match QCharts. This is particularly problematic for shorting because CyberX insists that you must short above its bid while the stock is down-ticking. If QCharts' bid happens to be lower than what CyberX thinks the bid is, your trade will be rejected. So somehow I still need to know what CyberX thinks the bid is. As I'm disconnected from their quote server, I have to logoff/logon to get reconnected and, if I'm looking to move NOW, I can't afford to lose that time. Granted, this problem generally only occurs near the open or during some sort of 'fast run' but, nonetheless, its another reason I prefer to leave CyberX running independently of QCharts. Obviously there's no harm having the integration as an option and other traders with a different style than mine might find it quite useful. Perhaps, if they're reading this over your shoulder, they can respond with their own feedback.
