Well, to the non-techies like myself, I have to say the flavor of the Thread has changed in the past week.

Just an observation. Intel's support for Rambus did not seem to wane during the IDF. In fact, if anything, it seemed to be strengthened by the formal restatements made.

The Rambus rollercoaster won't stop dipping and rising until Rambus begins to penetrate the mid-level market. Isn't that frankly the element of success we are all debating? Because Dell (and Compaq and IBM) with Intel have now alloted the high-end workstation, non- AMD marketshare to Rambus. This toehold (foothold?) is extremely important -but for the investor the next steps are far, far more critical. The unflagging support of Intel and the success of the Seven Dramurai in the next six to nine months are going to tell the story.

RE: <That does not change, however, that Dan said that the minimum recommended RAM for W2000 was 256M.>

He didn't say that Microsoft recommended 256 MB. Intellegent people that want a good machine will recommend 256 MB. MS's recommendation is just a joke.
