P.M. - <Recent insider sellings from Intel may send a confusing signal to the markets.>

I would think that this could often be the case, i.e., are the execs selling because they think business going forward will suck, or because its September and time to pay for the kid's tuition at Stanford?

I would think that if the signal is "mixed" , it would be hard to attribute anything meaningful to the activity.

PM, There are a sea of insiders at Intel. There are always some people selling some shares and one expects them to sell some from time to time. After all how do you cash out and where?, at the top if possible. So you can cite insider sales at almost anytime and sure enough a few hundred thousand have sold....small potatoes in the overall scheme. Now if Rambus insiders are selling...that is a different question.
I happen to feel that all insider shares should be electronically tagged....so when they are sold it shows on the board at that instant, in public, just like in the old curb exchanges. I happen to want to know the exact moment that "Elvis has left the building" ie, when an insider has sold I want to know right away. This can easily be done with current tech. It is not done because the insiders want us in the dark until later. Right now the delay is large and it is only major holders that need to give advance notice of intent to sell.
