G. In a similar light, there are web notifiers out there too. I happen to use MindIt (http://www.netmind.com/html/individual.html). This is a free service to check web sites detecting changes. I use the basic "detect any change" but the capability to detect specific types of changes are there too.

I use this service to notify me when changes occur on specific pages of interest to me. This way, I do not have to remember to go see if there are any updates -- MindIt tells me. This type of service is especially good for sites like the Risk Digest (a moderated list of computer related risks that some of you may find interesting catless.ncl.ac.uk.
