Morning Double D,
So, why did Canada adopt a policy of selling their gold reserves,"way back when"? Maybe I can take pride in our government having such vision, to be one of the first.
Here's one that will make steam come out of your ears.
Every country in the world is trying to "beggar their currency".
So I'll ask this, is there a country whose currency is in effect Gold? If there is, could they be trying and succeeding in "beggaring "their" currency?

My post you referred to DD, is linked to Mikes post, and was directed to him. My mistake is I didn't PM it (because of my labor day celebrations) and I apologize that it hurt the sensibilities of ardent Barrick supporters and anyone else. You are right, there are two of us,...one the drunk russett, the other, the undrunk russett (gggggggggggggggg)

My intention was to give Mike some well deserved support. Many posters spew out great statements, but few do the kind of digging Mike has been doing. Mike confirmed Mulroney is on both Barrick, and Trizec boards. He also discovered, with the help of Bob Johnson, that Mulroney's administration was in power for the vast majority of the sell off of Canada's gold reserves( Chretien has completed the process).http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=11163560 Much has been written about the corruptness of Mulroney's administration, and the former PM's actions are still under investigation by the RCMP.

Seems to be lots of interesting linkages there. It deserves further research and speculation. You never know what might be discovered.

Barrick is up 2.9% today, which should make you happy,...I prefer the little ones. Energold is up 13.3% today.

russet, neither a Barrick lover or hater, but I do admire what they have accomplished in the gold mining industry.
