=Clinton clone - good one =march to the center - not by the party, by the person alone - edit - not even the person, but only his ghostwriter, and tailor =initiatives shot down - the CDU should hold fire, Chancellor is acting for them; FDP is doomed anyway, they could try; result: CDU and FDP will run to support Chancellor who fights his party =shift of the political dialogue to right - not desirable here, also CDU too conservative to leave their social 'morals' (mostly the Oswald von Nell-Breuning-like (do you know him?) Catholic fraction) behind =modernization desirable, but liberalization not feasible =purely rhetorical focus not desirable. If so, I like solidaric rhetorics better. Only a matter of taste, I think.
