it is like owning a best of breed race horse and betting against it

DELL is not a race horse. DELL is a closer to a mule. It never moves too fast and it never gets tired, it just keeps on stubbornly climbing up the mountain.

The trick to selling calls on DELL is to realize that DELL always stays on the trend. It never explodes away from you and does not come back.

If you sell calls all you need to do is sell well above the trend. Dont be greedy. If you get excercised DELL will come back down. Of course this only works if you are not sitting on a massive gain :-)

I put the long term trend as right here around 50. Selling oct or maybe nov 60 calls look like a sure thing right now.
