Teflon: Yes. ARBA and CMRC might be a good place to start. But not with me. Don't know enough about either yet. Ready to learn.

Gilligan of Fiduciary Trust on ARBA and CMRC

(part of a long article from Dow Jones)

"Companies that provide the infrastructure for business-to-business electronic
commerce, which is starting to dwarf business-to-consumer e-commerce in size,
are particularly good bets, Galligan said. In this category, he pointed to Ariba
Inc. (ARBA) and Commerce One Inc. (CMRC), which make software used to build
electronic trading networks to connect companies with customers and suppliers."

Tef,

One area that I am having difficulty ascertaining on ARBA and CMRC is where exactly are they in the technology life cycle? It would seem from the number of companies that they have signed up that they have crossed the chasm and are setting up the bowling alley.

The one interesting item on both is that for ARBA the revenues for the nine months ending 6/99 revenues totaled $28.2 million up from $3.7 million but net LOSS totaled $19.4 million UP from $8.3 million
CMRC for the six months ending 6/99 revenues totaled $6.3 million up from $823 thousand but net LOSS totaled $24.6 million UP from $10.6 million.

Couple of other items of note. ARBA currently shows a $6.23B market cap to CMRC's $1.19B. The P/S ratio (ttm) for ARBA is 111.94 and for CMRC is 25.05. And finally guess which one has the greater short interest.
